![]() Takeaways: The quiet, the service, the upscale amenities, the natural beauty, the feeling you are in naturally beautiful special place attended to by genuinely friendly comfortable people who share their love of a beautiful place in a beautiful place.Ever heard someone refer to something as being “so old it actually came back into style”. Cambria to the north and Morro Bay to the south. Accommodation: 5 stars+ Amenities: 5 stars Location/Property: 5 stars+ Nearby: The town of Cayucos is quite small, but great food at the Smokehouse and Hoppes. Outdoor firepits, pot belly stoves and a host of amazing touches. A decent size Yoga studio with all the equipment. The water from the tap tastes great (mineral water spring). There is a beautiful pond with water so clear you can’t believe its a «pond». The huge main garden at the front of the property is amazing with many places to sit & read and enjoy the quiet of nature & the hummingbirds & hawks. All uniquely different, all upscale and beautifully appointed. The property is an immaculate gentlemans ranchers house with rooms of all different personalities, a separate guest house, unique Yurts and an even a spanking brand new Airstream set in a valley all its own. Staff very professional, thorough, warm & attentive yet respected your privacy. She provided 5 star service & communication from the very first email and all throughout our stay til we left. Booked our stay with one of the owners (Jennifer). Its up a winding canyon road in Cayucos (which is just north of Morro Bay and west of Paso Robles), on the ocean side of the hills between the 1 and the 101 fwy. Found Wellspring Ranch on a couple different b &b websites. Longer story: Was looking for an anniversary/birthday celebration long weekend. Cannot ask for a better B &B experience the Wellspring Ranch is perfect. Short story: Absolutely beautiful & private ranch, astonishing attention to detail, quiet, upscale, warm & friendly staff, delicious food & drink, with all the upscale amenities you want. All in all it was just pristine, so relaxing and totally rejuvenating for a quick vacation away from L.A. Eric offered to let us use an alternate fridge but after being in that warmth overnight we felt the food was lost. 2) we brought some nice steak for our lunch but unfortunately the guest refrigerator temperature was too warm and not food-safe. My only two negatives are pretty minor: 1) we were awakened by a yippy chihauhau our first morning, which was mostly a bummer because we are awakened every day at home by our next door neighbor’s yippy pup and we were looking forward to a break from that! All the other Ranch animals were totally adorable and sweet, ready for a cuddle if you are interested but they stay out of your way if not. Magical! It’s really a gift that the owners opened up this space for others to enjoy as well. But my favorite thing was just sitting by their koi pond, watching the fish, dragonflies, and bees go about their business, and enjoying a kind of peacefulness that is so rare to find. Oh my gosh, the views on that hike! We did it once during the day and then hiked again at night to get to a perfect point for stargazing. We even got cushy bathrobes to wear, which were particularly perfect after a refreshing outdoor shower after taking that beautiful hike around the property perimeter. With the windows open you get delicious-smelling breezes through the space. We stayed in a cabana/yurt and it was gorgeous and really comfortable. Eric was our host for the weekend and he was very attentive and helpful, giving us a tour, advice on property hikes and even offering a yoga session if we wanted one. This place was perfect for us and we received incredible service from the whole team (including awesome breakfasts!). My husband and I are not camping/outdoorsy folks we certainly appreciate nature but REALLY appreciate warm showers and cozy beds. ![]() Just returned from a weekend at Wellspring Ranch and since they are brand new and I loved it so much, I’m writing my first ever Unilocal review to help others find them too! We found Wellspring when looking for a place to stay while visiting friends in Cayucos.
